ISO 45001:2018
Occupational Health and Safety Management System
For businesses seeking to address employee, site and operational risks systematically.
ClassManagement system standard
Edition2018
What is this standard?
Specifies occupational health and safety management system requirements. Although applicable across all sectors, ISO specifically cites high-risk activities such as construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, mining and agriculture.
Who is it for?
All sectors, with priority for construction, manufacturing, mining, energy, logistics, agriculture and healthcare.
What triggers an assessment?
- Site activity is carried out with employees or subcontractors.
- Measurable workplace safety risk is carried.
- A tender or customer imposes an OH&S system requirement.
What does it not replace?
- It is not a certificate that replaces statutory OH&S obligations; risk level and workplace type are questioned.
- It does not remove the obligation to appoint occupational physicians or safety specialists.
