ClassManagement system standard
Edition2018
What is this standard?
Specifies food safety management system requirements. Its scope is the 'food chain': organisations from primary production to retail, including transport, storage and catering.
Who is it for?
Primary producers, manufacturers, transport and storage, catering, retail and related subcontractors.
What triggers an assessment?
- A physical role is held in the food chain.
- A buyer or retailer requires a food safety system.
- Food-contact packaging or services are supplied.
What does it not replace?
- It is not automatically recommended for a company providing office services only.
- FSSC 22000, IFS and BRCGS are separate schemes; they are not the same as ISO 22000.
