What is this programme?
A rating programme for new and existing buildings and interior projects. GBCI carries out the technical review of the project application.
Who is it for?
Investors, developers and design teams running new build, renovation, fit-out or infrastructure projects.
Who issues the certificate?
The certificate is awarded to the project rather than the organisation; GBCI performs the technical review.
What to verify before you accept it
Check the building type, the country, the project stage and the registration or review model that applies.
What triggers an assessment?
- There is a new build, renovation or fit-out project.
- Financing, a tenant or an ESG target requires green building status.
- Certification is targeted across a corporate property portfolio.
What does it not replace?
- It is not a corporate ISO certificate and is not shown in the same class as ISO 14001 or ISO 41001.
- It does not substitute for building permits or energy performance certificates.
