The EØS-vareloven (LOV-2013-04-12-13), §3, first sentence, verbatim: "Nasjonalt akkrediteringsorgan i Norge er Norsk akkreditering" — Norway's national accreditation body is Norsk akkreditering. §2 of the same Act transposes Regulation (EC) 765/2008 into Norwegian law via the EEA Agreement — not as directly applicable EU law. §4: the Act does not apply to Svalbard.

Norsk akkreditering is an EA (European co-operation for Accreditation) MLA signatory (calibration, testing, medical examination, product certification, management-system certification, certification of persons, inspection, validation & verification, proficiency-testing providers, reference-material producers), last peer-evaluated 2024/11, next re-evaluation due 2028/11. It is separately confirmed in the Global ACI Full Members registry ("Norway — Norwegian Accreditation") — though Norsk akkreditering's own site still displays EA/IAF/ILAC branding rather than Global ACI's.

Employer's systematic HSE-work duty
The Working Environment Act (arbeidsmiljøloven), §2-1, places a general compliance duty on the employer. §3-1 requires systematic HSE work at all levels, in cooperation with employees, covering: goals; a chart of who is responsible for what; hazard mapping, risk assessment and mitigation planning; review of the impact of changes; routines for detecting and correcting nonconformities; sickness-absence prevention; ongoing monitoring where risk warrants it; and periodic self-review of the HSE system itself. The Labour Inspection Authority (Arbeidstilsynet) enforces the Act under §18-1.
