What is this standard?
Specifies management system requirements for IT asset management, covering the licence, hardware and software lifecycle.
Who is it for?
Any organisation with a significant IT estate, and IT service providers.
What triggers an assessment?
- Licence or asset inventory management is causing problems.
- The hardware–software lifecycle cannot be tracked.
- There is exposure to a software licence audit.
What does it not replace?
- It is not equivalent to an information security certificate; ISO/IEC 27001 is a separate record.
- It does not remove licensing obligations.
