TrustArc / TRUSTe Certification Programs
TrustArc operates TRUSTe-branded certification, verification and validation products for privacy compliance, not all equally strong. TrustArc's own product pages call TRUSTe "an approved Accountability Agent under the APEC CBPR and PRP systems" and list separate "Verification" and "Validation" products that the pages do not name certifications.

What it is
TrustArc operates TRUSTe as its certification/seal brand. Its own product page states: "TRUSTe is an approved Accountability Agent under the APEC CBPR and PRP systems."
TrustArc's assurance-certifications page lists ten separate named products under this brand: TRUSTe Global CBPR and PRP Certification; APEC CBPR & PRP Certification; TRUSTe Data Privacy Framework Verification; TRUSTe Enterprise Privacy Certification; EDAA Privacy Certification; DAA AMI Validation; TRUSTe Data Collection Certification; TRUSTe GDPR Validation; TRUSTe CCPA Validation; TRUSTe Responsible AI Certification.
Three of those ten use the word "Verification" or "Validation" in their own name rather than "Certification" — TrustArc's own page distinguishes them from its Certification-labelled products. This record does not call the Verification/Validation products certificates; they are a separate, weaker attestation-style category by the owner's own naming.

Who assesses it
TrustArc describes TRUSTe as "the first Accountability Agent in the world" and states it has "performed over hundreds of CBPR certifications" (since 2013), "in coordination with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other governments."
