AS9100 (IAQG 9100 series)

What it is

IAQG's own value page describes the effect of the scheme, verbatim: "the 9100 series are accepted quality standards, thus reducing audits for EACH customer" — one certification accepted across customers instead of per-customer audits.

Scale, as the owner states it on the same page (read 7 September 2026): "more than 18,000 AQMS certifications covering 25,000 sites".

The scheme is recorded as "IAQG Industry Controlled Other Party (ICOP)" in the International Accreditation Forum's endorsed-scheme register, covering the 9100, 9110 and 9120 standards and framed by ISO/IEC 17011, ISO/IEC 17021-1 and IAQG's own 9104-1. That entry is now archival: the IAF site itself states that "As of 01 January 2026, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) is no longer operational" and that the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated "has replaced IAF and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC)" — whether Global ACI carries the endorsement forward was not established for this record.

This record deliberately does not assert a revision letter (such as "AS9100D") or the SAE/EN/JISQ publisher triple: neither could be read verbatim from the owner's pages this round, so the record speaks of the 9100 series as the owner does.

9110 (maintenance) and 9120 (distributors) are sibling standards in the same scheme; they are named in IAF's entry and are tracked for their own records rather than folded into this one.

Who owns it

The International Aerospace Quality Group — its about page, verbatim: "As an international non-profit association under Belgian law with an office registered in Brussels (Belgium), the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) was established in 1998. In 2013, the IAQG became an International Not-For-Profit Association under Belgium Law."

Who assesses it

Accredited certification bodies under the ICOP scheme; accreditation bodies operate within ISO/IEC 17011, and IAS's page records its recognition for the Americas region. The owner's OASIS register, in its own words, "also contains all bodies involved (i.e. National Accreditation Bodies, Certification Bodies and Authenticated Aerospace Experienced Auditors)".

Who asks for it

Buyer-driven. Boeing's own quality page, verbatim: "Boeing, as well as other major aerospace manufacturers, flow down AS9100 certification and compliance to its suppliers..." — a buyer flow-down, not a statute, in the sources read for this record.
