What it requires

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), through DIPOA, registers animal-origin-product businesses under the Serviço de Inspeção Federal (SIF) via two tracks. The simplified track is defined by establishment class, not by company size: the source lists granja avícola (poultry farm), posto de refrigeração (cold store), queijaria (cheese dairy), unidade de beneficiamento de produtos de abelhas (bee-product processing) and entreposto de produtos de origem animal (animal-product warehouse). Everything else goes through the full análise e aprovação track — document review plus on-site inspection and approval. Establishment registration runs through the Plataforma SDA Digital; product registration is a separate, later step in PGA-SIGSIF.
