AWS Foundational Technical Review
The AWS Foundational Technical Review (FTR) is a self-service review of AWS Partner solutions; AWS calls the outcome an approval and a badge, not a certificate. Software Path partners run the review at no cost and get results within minutes, and an approved FTR earns a Qualified Software badge valid for two years.

What it is
AWS describes the FTR as a way to "Identify and remediate risks in your solutions with the AWS Foundational Technical Review (FTR)." AWS's own page states the review is "self-service, valuable at any stage of your cloud journey, and you can conduct it at no cost and get results within minutes."
AWS's own terms for the outcome are "review," "approval" and "badge" — the page does not call the FTR a certification. AWS states: "With an approved FTR, you earn a 'Qualified Software' badge and a listing in the AWS Partner Solutions Finder," and "It is valid for two years from approval."
Who owns it
The FTR is an AWS Partner Network (APN) program owned and operated by Amazon Web Services.
Who assesses it
The FTR is a self-service review: AWS Partners enrolled in the Software Path run the review on their own solutions through AWS Partner Central, and approval is issued by AWS.
