What it requires
A supplier of Controlled Goods must become a Registered Supplier, have the goods tested against the applicable safety standard (via a third-party Certificate of Conformity, or, for lower-risk goods, a Supplier's Declaration of Conformity), register them with the Consumer Product Safety Office (CPSO), and affix a SAFETY Mark before sale. Selling unregistered Controlled Goods carries a penalty of up to S$10,000 and/or up to 2 years' imprisonment, per CPSO's own overview page. CPSO moved from Enterprise Singapore to the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) on 1 July 2025; existing registrations and certificates remain valid under CCCS.
