MOLDAC describes itself: 'MOLDAC este organism naţional unic de acreditare şi are drept scop implementarea politicii de stat în domeniul acreditării şi evaluării conformităţii' (MOLDAC is the sole national accreditation body and its purpose is to implement state policy in the field of accreditation and conformity assessment), established under Legea nr.235 din 01.12.2011. Moldova's Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalisation, which monitors MOLDAC, confirms the same status on its own site: 'MOLDAC este organismul național unic de acreditare' — a public institution established under the same 2011 law. The law's own article number for this designation was not independently confirmed this round (the legislative database blocked automated access); the claim rests on these two independent institutional sources, not the statute's own text.

Search the register — seven categories, no login
MOLDAC's public register ('Registers') needs no login and is organised into seven category links: Testing Laboratories, Calibration Laboratories, Medical Laboratories, Product Certification Bodies, Ecological Product Certification Bodies, Management Systems Certification Bodies, and Inspection Bodies — each labelled by the specific standard it is accredited against (e.g. 'ACREDITATE CONFORM SM EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018').

International recognition covers six scopes, not all ten — and person certification is not among them
European Accreditation's own signatory list (EA-INF/03, revision of 26 May 2026) shows MOLDAC as an EA MLA signatory in six of ten possible scopes since 5 October 2017: calibration laboratories, testing laboratories, medical laboratories, inspection bodies, and certification bodies for both products and management systems. It is not listed as a signatory for person certification, validation and verification bodies, proficiency testing providers, or reference material producers. ILAC independently confirms Full Member status, covering testing, medical testing, calibration and inspection — consistent with EA's list. Moldova is an EU candidate country (since 2022), which is EA's own stated basis for membership eligibility, though EA's own directory does not label members as 'Member' vs. 'Associate' separately.
